Saturday, July 16, 2016 — Start-up community Start it @kbc and the Belgian tech community BetaGroup will be joining forces for another year. Through their renewed partnership, both communities are strengthening the start-up ecosystem by sharing their biggest assets.
Start it @kbc and BetaGroup are today signing up to another year of intensive cooperation. In practical terms, this means that the two organisations open up their network to one another and work together to organise events and coach promising start-ups. For instance, Start it @kbc and BetaGroup arrange pitch sessions and workshops for start-ups and match them with investors and companies in order to do business. In addition, BetaGroup members can attend the Start it Academy in Brussels, where the Start it @kbc mentors and partners share their knowledge and expertise with entrepreneurs.
Julie Cruyt, General Manager van BetaGroup: "As a national organisation based in Brussels, BetaGroup is able to select the best early-stage startups from around the country for its monthly public Demo (Pitching) Sessions. These sessions attract stakeholders from across the entire startup ecosystem, including engineers/geeks, entrepreneurs, students, mentors and investors. Start it @KBC allows us to put the spotlight on a number of very promising incubated businesses. We also aim to promote awareness of our community in Flanders in order to bring together entrepreneurs from across the country to share their passion and launch new business initiatives.
Lode Uytterschaut, founder of Start it @kbc: “In our vision, there is one single community of start-ups. If the best start-up initiatives in Belgium combine their efforts, a win-win situation is created for the initiatives, the start-ups and the ecosystem. This partnership with BetaGroup opens the way for tech start-ups from Brussels and the French-speaking part of the country to coaching and the huge Start it @kbc network.”

BetaGroup is the largest Online Tech Start-ups Community in Belgium. The group has over 8,500 members and, with 52% French-speaking and 43% Dutch-speaking start-ups, is popular in both parts of the country. A growing number of start-ups from neighbouring EU countries also connect with one another via BetaGroup.
BetaGroup is based in Brussels and organises monthly Demo Sessions where the best promising Startups in Belgium present their project in front of a Jury as well as the BetaGroup Community which is composed of Investors, Entrepreneurs, Students, Mentors & Geeks. This session is an occasion for Startups to test their Valule Proposition by getting direct professional feedback and prospective clients. It is also a chance to find co-founders and meet “smart money” investors. The community is open to everyone in the ecosystem and curious minds who would like to launch their own digital projects.
